MARIANA.
Berlin-based composer and sound designer passionate about turning sound into stories. From original scores and immersive soundscapes for film and games to creating expressive compositions for orchestras, ensembles, and choirs, her work blends expertise, creativity, and emotion.
Hi, I’m MARIANA, a composer and sound designer based in Berlin, originally from Colombia. For over a decade, I’ve been crafting sound in all its forms: film scores, orchestral pieces, experimental soundscapes, and music for diverse ensembles. My work blends the influences of my Colombian roots—its rich landscapes, traditional instruments, and musical heritage—with contemporary techniques and a forward-thinking approach. The result is sound that’s dynamic, deeply emotional, and authentic.
Sound design is a big part of what I do. While I lead the sound design team at Mynd, a German video production company, I also create immersive audio experiences for a variety of audiovisual projects and incorporate sound design into my soundscapes. Whether I’m working on an orchestral piece, exploring layered soundscapes, or developing detailed audio elements for film, I’m always searching for new ways to tell stories through sound.
My journey started at Javeriana University in Bogotá, where I studied Composition and Music Production. Later, I specialized in Advanced Film Music Composition at Musicube Academy in Cologne. Along the way, I’ve explored everything from orchestral arrangements to electroacoustic works. With every project, I push boundaries, connect deeply with my roots, and find innovative ways to create unforgettable soundscapes.
Check out my work!
